As an organisation which prioritises and promotes active youth engagement, inclusion and access to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services, Marie Stopes International Organisation Nigeria (MSION) put together a youth-driven social media competition to commemorate the International Youth Day, 2020.
The competition tagged #PlanNowChallenge was aimed at creatively engaging young people in the promotion of SRH information. Young Nigerians were asked to listen to the MSION theme song and submit their creative interpretations of the song in a 1-minute video.
During the 3-week long contest, 22 participants submitted impressive entries in forms of drama, dance, arts and poetry. Those entries were reposted on the MSION Instagram platform (@MarieStopesNG) and a total of 25,947 people were reached.
As a result of the #PlanNowChallenge, more young people in Nigeria have become aware of contraceptives and how important they are in planning for the future.
